CoolCo Collaborates with Kongsberg Digital to Enhance Digitalization of LNG Carrier Fleet

Kongsberg Digital has entered into an agreement with Cool Company Ltd. (CoolCo) to enhance its digitalisation efforts by extending the deployment of Vessel Insight across its fleet of liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers. This initiative follows a successful pilot project and marks the transition to a full-scale implementation across CoolCo’s nine LNG carriers.

By adopting Vessel Insight, CoolCo will benefit from real-time access to comprehensive operational data, customized dashboards for each vessel, and advanced analytics tools. These resources enable data-driven decision-making aimed at improving operational efficiency.

The Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution ensures the secure collection, processing, and sharing of vital vessel data, which promotes transparency and standardisation within the fleet. The structured and automated data collection process facilitated by Vessel Insight supports crucial functions such as compliance reporting, operational oversight, and emissions monitoring.

This aligns with CoolCo’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability in its operations. The solution also holds Type Approval for D-INF, Cyber Resilience, and IACS UR E27 from DNV, ensuring it meets the highest industry standards for secure and reliable data handling.

Richard Tyrrell, Chief Executive Officer of CoolCo, highlighted, “Optimising vessel performance to reduce fuel consumption and emissions is a key priority for us. With Vessel Insight, we gain deeper operational insights, streamline reporting, and adopt a more proactive approach to sustainability.”

Shane McArdle, Chief Executive Officer at Kongsberg Digital, echoed this sentiment, stating, “As the maritime industry shifts towards lower emissions and data-driven operations, scalable solutions like Vessel Insight empower operators to meet evolving regulations and operational requirements.

This partnership provides CoolCo with a robust, secure infrastructure that enhances efficiency and underpins their long-term objectives.”
