Hanseatic Global Terminals Secures Majority Stake in Le Havre Terminal Operator Acquisition

Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) has announced the successful acquisition of a 60% stake in CNMP LH from Seafrigo Group. CNMP LH operates the Atlantique container terminal located in Le Havre, France, serving a global clientele as an independent entity. Seafrigo Group will retain a 40% stake, specializing in temperature-controlled food logistics. The financial specifics of this transaction have not been disclosed by the involved parties.

Le Havre ranks among the top ten largest ports in Europe and serves as France’s primary port for maritime transport, boasting an annual container throughput of 3 million TEU. The CNMP LH terminal is anticipated to see growth in its container throughput, particularly in the promising reefer container sector. Dheeraj Bhatia, CEO of Hanseatic Global Terminals, stated that this acquisition reinforces HGT’s foothold in a vital European market while enabling the company to enhance its global terminal portfolio and make targeted efficiency investments. This move aligns with their broader Strategy 2030 initiative.

A ceremonial event was held to mark the completion of the share transfer, attended by Dheeraj Bhatia, Eric Barbé (President of Seafrigo Group), Édouard Philippe (Mayor of Le Havre), and Benoît Rochet (General Manager of HAROPA PORT). Barbé expressed optimism about partnering with Hanseatic Global Terminals, highlighting the collaboration’s potential to modernize the CNMP LH terminal and boost its significance as a key gateway for container transport within the Port of Le Havre. Investment in terminal infrastructure is central to Hanseatic Global Terminals’ strategic goals, with plans to expand its terminal network to over 30 locations by 2030.
