Oceanly, a prominent provider of digital solutions in the maritime sector, has announced a strategic partnership with BW LPG, the leading owner and operator of LPG carriers. This collaboration aims to enhance fleet performance through improved vessel reporting and performance monitoring.
The partnership signifies a major step forward in enhancing data quality, particularly in noon reporting processes, which are crucial for increasing fleet efficiency and operational accuracy. Initiated in December 2024, the project involves the deployment of Oceanly’s Performance Base and Performance Lite systems across BW LPG’s fleet, with a successful rollout completed by the first quarter of 2025.
The Performance Lite system, designed for chartered vessels, offers a streamlined reporting solution that requires no onboard installations, making it ideal for those under time-charter agreements. In contrast, the Performance Base system provides comprehensive tools crucial for monitoring and reporting across BW LPG’s owned fleet.
The Performance Base system enhances workflow efficiency by providing crew members access to detailed analytics and timely operational alerts from connected workstations onboard. The Performance Lite system can be deployed quickly, operating within 30 minutes via a web browser, catering specifically to time-chartered vessels seeking minimal investment in permanent infrastructure.
In response to BW LPG’s specific needs, Oceanly has also developed a customized Parcel Management module to optimize bunker operations. This module is essential for managing fuel consumption and remaining onboard (ROB), ultimately improving fuel economy and operational cost-effectiveness.
Virginia Aste, Oceanly’s Project Manager, praised the cooperation with BW LPG, emphasizing the focus on data precision. Ingela Mandl, Sales Director at Oceanly, expressed pride in supporting BW LPG with their systems, highlighting the commitment to advancing maritime operations through enhanced data collection.
BW LPG’s Prodyut Banerjee acknowledged the positive impact of Oceanly’s tools on data quality and operational accuracy, while Kevin Knott noted a significant reduction in re-work associated with onboard data validation. A critical element of this partnership is the integration with DNV Veracity, which strengthens data validation and operational integrity, ensuring high standards of accuracy and reliability in maritime data management.
