Survitec Expands Fujairah Service Station to Enhance Middle East Operations

Survitec, a leading company in Survival Technology, is expanding its operations in the Middle East through the significant enhancement of its Fujairah service station. This expansion adds 1,350 square meters of new capacity and transforms the facility into a comprehensive service station, which now includes liferaft servicing for RaftXChange, a rental and exchange program, alongside existing offerings in lifeboat inspection and marine fire safety services. Beibei Qiu, Executive Managing Director for APAC & MEA at Survitec, emphasizes that this expansion is more than just an increase in size.

It represents a strategic investment in regional capabilities to respond to the growing needs in the Middle East. Qiu stated, “By broadening the scope of our Fujairah operations, we’re ensuring the delivery of timely, flexible solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reduce vessel downtime.” The Fujairah facility’s strategic location near the Strait of Hormuz allows Survitec to better serve essential shipping routes in the Gulf of Oman and beyond.

The expansion consolidates servicing under one roof, providing a more agile and cost-effective approach for customers handling safety and survival solutions for their vessels. Qiu highlights that the increase in capacity is about ensuring customer peace of mind, ensuring their safety equipment is expertly serviced regardless of their operational location. This expansion is part of a broader growth strategy aimed at solidifying Survitec’s presence in global shipping hubs while responding to the industry’s evolving regulatory landscape.

In line with this expansion, Survitec has invested in developing talent by recruiting and certifying skilled technicians for liferafts, lifeboats, and marine fire safety systems. The facility has obtained full regulatory approval from UAE authorities, guaranteeing compliance with the highest safety standards. The expanded service center was inaugurated with the presence of Survitec CEO Robert Kledal and Mr. Sharief Al Awardi, Director General of the Fujairah Free Zone.

Kledal affirmed the expansion’s importance for long-term investment in vital shipping regions, reinforcing Survitec’s commitment to protecting lives at sea.
