IRClass Systems and Solutions Pvt Ltd (ISSPL) has launched a pioneering Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative called ‘Hygiene & Menstruation for Health and Dignity.’ This groundbreaking project is the first of its kind in Maharashtra, targeting improved menstrual health and hygiene among rural women and adolescent girls. Situated in Kelwad, Ahilyanagar, the project aims to challenge the stigma surrounding menstruation while promoting dignity and supporting the health and well-being of women in underserved areas.
Funded through ISSPL’s CSR resources, the initiative collaborates with a social innovation start-up and utilizes locally manufactured machinery. The program operates under the brand ‘Lady Lotus,’ establishing a sustainable production unit for affordable, high-quality sanitary napkins tailored specifically for rural women. Beyond enhancing access to inexpensive hygiene products, the project also fosters community awareness and employment opportunities through women-led operations and educational workshops.
Mr. Vinay Kshirsagar, Managing Director of ISSPL, spoke about the initiative, stating, “This initiative reflects our commitment to meaningful CSR that goes beyond financial support. Through Lady Lotus, we aim to address a critical issue affecting women’s health in rural India with dignity, empathy, and a sustainable approach. We are proud to launch this pioneering project in Maharashtra.”
Collaborating with ISSPL, the Shri Naresh Raut Foundation brings valuable local insights and community outreach experience to the project, ensuring that it meets the specific needs of its beneficiaries.
Lady Lotus aspires to set a benchmark for similar initiatives across India, contributing to the country’s broader movement for menstrual equity among rural women and girls.
